A Computer Rant
Nov. 4th, 2013 09:00 amWell, Apple has convinced me not to by a Mac. Perhaps this is crazy, but I liked being able to directly sync with a computer and not using any service or server outside my control. Now with OSX Mavericks this is no longer allowed. Now you have to use iCloud to sync calendars, address books, etc. Passwords and pain in the ass. I will just buy a cheap PC and keep dealing with Microsoft’s stupidity if that is how Apple is going. The whole reason I wanted (past tense) a mac was that it would make syncing easy and they took it away. I hate having to depend on outside services because they go down, disappear, and change at the whim of the owner. If I buy a computer I want to be able to freeze it at a moment in time and not have to change for years on end. I suppose that I will finally have to be one of the crazy people who learn linux or something so I can be a proper old man shouting at clouds and complaining about young people today.
