Not Feeling Up To It
Jul. 5th, 2010 09:38 amSometimes an illness can make you feel better. I've been working while sick, but it has made me feel better about deciding not to take the time off to go camping. I'd much rather be sick at work than sick on a vacation. Which is something that seems to happen to me rather often and it might be part of the reason I'm so reluctant to travel.
I'm planning on going to New Mexico again, but this reminds me that even if I don't catch a respiratory illness I'll probably have some sort of allergic reaction when I get down there to the stuff in the air. It has happened the last two times I've been down there so I'll go prepared with allergy medicines and so on. Though I'd be a liar if I said it didn't give me at least a little bit of dread.
Of all the unpleasant things in life illness is one of the worst, but not so bad this time. I've been lucky and avoided being ill in a worse situation this time. Now if I could just get a job where I could actually take time off to nurse myself when ill...
