No Thank You, Not Interested

I have deleted buzz from my gmail account. If I had time for facebook or liked the concept of facebook I would use facebook due to the larger installed user base. Things like facebook do not give me the social contact I crave. They're like drinking Tang when I want orange juice. I journal because I need a place to put thoughts. Yes, initially it was all about wanting fame and so on, but if I were still chasing that mirage I'd be using twitter.

The only reason I have a facebook account is so that if I choose I can make it public with the innocuous details of my legal self and look "perfectly normal" to someone who cares about that sort of thing.

I wish there were sort of a Dreamwidth version of GMail out there. Lots of storage, great filtering, and I pay for it rather than getting it for "free" by letting their computers try to figure out how to sell me crap.
