If you live in Colorado check your voter registration using the first link on the Colorado Secretary of State Election Center Page. Why? It is possible that your name may have been purged from the voter rolls if there is a difference between your other state information (such as drivers license) and the name used when you registered to vote. Such as a clerical error. Or even the difference of using a hyphen vs not using one. Yes, depending on how the Secretary of State Office Workers interpret the rules it can be as small a thing as that to invalidate a registration. Check now because there is only a week left until the deadline to register to vote for this fall's election.

Also, today is a good day to request a mail in ballot. If you get a mail in ballot you will help things go smoothly on election day by not being one of the people in line and also help yourself by avoiding those lines. The same form is used to change your registration and a mail in ballot. Do it today rather than putting it off!

If you don't live in Colorado, chances are your state elections office will also have some sort of way to verify your registration and forms to print out to get registered. Get to it! Search using 'register vote' and your state name in google, chances are the right page will be the top result. It was for Minnesota when I tried that option. Or there are all sorts of pages on how to get registered like Obama's and Rock the Vote.
