Lost and Found

Well somehow I missed my ring in the pocket of my jeans and I thought I had left it at home. I'll have to call my mother and apologize to her. I asked her to look in my room out at the house because I thought I had left it on the desk there. Oh well. I'll have to do something nice like some gardening for her by way of apology.

I made dinner for my grandmother yesterday. She's going to New York so I thought I should do something before she left. The menu consisted of streak with cream portabella mushroom sauce, asparagus with cheese sauce, and salad. Dessert was watermelon; I had two pieces then and two more later. When she gets back I might do my Polish Salmon recipe for her.

Afterwards I stopped off to see Rose and Dave and we ate the rest of the watermelon together. It was a nice lazy Sunday with walks and good food.

Experiment 227: Beans and Onion

Big slug of olive oil
One can rinsed kidney beans
One medium or 1/2 large onion, chopped
Tablespoon garlic, minced
4 anchovy filets, minced
Big slug of vegetable juice (V8 or equivalent)
Basil to taste

Fry onions and garlic in olive oil until slightly browned. Add minced anchovies, stir 'round until they are well dissolved and distributed. Add rinsed kidney beans. Wait until they warm up a bit and add vegetable juice and basil. Cook down a bit turn off heat and serve.

I really need an insane icon for when I'm experimenting like this. Tastes pretty good, though not perfect.

When the Tough Gets Going...

The tough go shopping! I'm going wine shopping tomorrow. Which will shortly be today. I've carefully budgeted and I'm going to get cash and not spend a penny more than I can afford. Call me on my mobile phone after noon if you wish to go and have not left a message here first 303-587-6334. Don't call just to say that you can't come, because that would be silly, pointless, and will make me mock you in my journal. If you don't want to call me you can meet me for Ice Cream at 5pm at the corner of Ohio and University. There you will see a legendary maple tree planted by a fictional character and across the street from it is a little place called Bonnie Brae Ice Cream. They serve some of the best frozen cream and ice in all the universe.
