An Open Letter to the Colorado Department of Transportation on Alternatives to Improve Traffic to Summit County

Okay back into politics, sort of. This is the sort of local issue that is important and can be influenced by people here in Colorado. Currently we are faced with the problem of providing transportation too and from Summit County and the ski areas located there and further west in Eagle County. There are proposals to widen Interstate 70 from Golden to Glenwood Springs, to add a monorail, and various incremental and full steps.

Marbled Tea Eggs
I tried this recipe today while I was home sick.

Slightly Modified:
6 Eggs, boiled and cooled
½ cup Soy Sauce
2 Star Anise
2 Tablespoons Black Tea
6 Cloves
Cold Water

Gently break the shell of the egg all over then put in the cold water with all other ingredients. Bring to a simmer and cook for three hours.

It produced a rather good tasting egg and I think it could work for The Crew of Grenadine party at MileHiCon. Perhaps do a third of the eggs this way, a third colored with beet juice, and a third just plain. Jane has said that she might be able to help me peel eggs on the Thursday before the convention. I'm thinking the right number to do would be 2-dozen.

Okay I hope that I do this in a way that is v. interesting and gets dozens of people to go friend him. Josh, who started reading my journal one day because he was bored (amazingly he said that my writing entertains him, whoa), has succumbed to becoming a livejournal member. He's an architect and plays in a rock band. So he's way cool and his first post is very dada, go to [livejournal.com profile] the_enthusiast and become much more abstract. <grin>

Avast! Time for an evil plotting sneaky post, in honor of having two excellent beauties crewing my ship, the U.S.S Alcibiades. [livejournal.com profile] thette is First Mate and [livejournal.com profile] almeda has claimed the position of Cabin Girl.

Now me friends we're in need of more people to join the faction that is behind my cunningly early TAFF bid. This month's addition to the campaign platform is "Changes outfits often enough to qualify as entertainment at conventions." I wasn't too sure about it, but Kathy Routliffe on Rasff said, "it's got the touch of elegant foolishness that marks a successful slogan." So I'm going to be bold and take her suggestion. Everyone find me another vote, arr!

(Yes this post is one part silly and one part serious. Suggest a person who I should know and make comments on his journal, casually mention the crazy thing I'm doing now, or even talk me up in your own journal. And yes this will be the only time I pester you... this month.)
