Well, along those lines you seem to be doing what I would think of as the right moves - looking at SF conventions and SF groups for gay people. I'm straight, but the same thing worked fine for me. (I know of friends who are gamers whose wives don't game and therefore are only allowed 'out' to game a few times a month - whereas I'm in four ongoing RPG campaigns and may be joining a fifth.)
