So now I will be like an almost sane person again. I've put everyone back in my default reading list and I'll only start taking people out again as I find a person's journal hard to follow or whatever. But with the politicking done or at least trailing off I won't be as excitable as I was before. Sorry if I offended or whatever.

ooh, sorry. I only talked about the election twice though, really. And, well, it is all over but the cryin'.

Did I mention that I can be excitable and judgmental at times?

I like that about you.

No, I wasn't being sarcastic. I like that you call it like you see it and share your opinion. I value that.

I apologize for having let loose my judgmental nature in your direction. Or in other words, I know I'm not a nice guy and that's not going to change, but you shouldn't feel bad because of my problem.

I don't feel bad, but neither will I force you to put up with annoying or uncomforable situations. No hard feelings.

Friends don't inflict themselves on one another, and I don't want to be an affliction, so to speak.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's over quite yet.

Yeah so I just saw a bit ago. I'm *so* defriending (and I do mean defriending, rather than just not reading) anyone who starts posting paranoid conspiracy theory crap.

I'd honestly like to believe it's the work of some paranoid conspiracy. Unfortunately, I have to face the very grim reality that the American people as a whole really are that fucking stupid.

I dunno that I'd call them stupid. It's just that there is this strong core of about 25% of Americans who are religious in a way that is incompatible with tolerating other people. And they're not going to just go away and they're never going to vote for a candidate who's not intolerant. It is the way things are and I don't expect it to change until this generation passes away and only then if their children don't take up their banner.

It is a trap to think of people who are religious as stupid. They just need their faith and it does make them unable to see some things, but no more than the rest of us with all of our own blind spots related to how we see the world and ourselves.

I spoke hastily. I transferred my opinion of the action onto the people. I'm aware that a great many people have what are to them quite logical reasons for voting the way they did (some of which even make sense to me).

I don't have a problem with religious people. I have a problem with people who use their religion as an excuse not to think for themselves. Or who misuse religion to lead large numbers of people down the wrong path for their own personal ambitions.
