I was in a big budget fantasy movie production. Just a secondary character, but there I was marching along in armor saying my lines. It was a fantastic setting amid the trees, huge ones. The road we filmed on was a gash between their silent trunks with a big gate set upon it. I wasn't exactly clear if the movie was based upon a book or not, but I was excited to be part of it.

Then we wrapped for the day and perhaps we were completely done because I went to a party. Quite a few of the SF crowd I know were there. We discussed the movie in a very modern sort of house with big sheets of glass set between narrow strips of metal for walls. All the furniture was like 1960s updated with modern colors. From what I remember now it was a very nice party and I was having a good time.

But eventually it got late so I went to a nearby rail station. It was typical of light rail stations, concrete and heavy glass brick construction. Big cold shelter structures that were to keep off the rain without being so comfortable that homeless people would stay there. I and my fellow late night travelers stood separately without paying attention to each other.

Then there was someone shouting. I was wondering what was going on with that, worried that it was something serious. But I didn't make a move to actively find out what was going on. I was going to get on my train and slink away assuming it was just an ordinary fight when finally one of our fellow rail riders, a young retarded woman, shouted out, "Stop!" This seemed to galvanize everyone into assuming that something was really wrong. So we rushed over to where the shouting was coming from and found a youth tormenting a guy in a wheelchair. He was subdued in short order, I got in a few kicks myself, and then we all had to go make statements at the station. We all were upset about having to do that, yet it seems we were all glad that someone had kicked the five of us in the mental rear to do something rather than this being a Kitty Genovese sort of story. I told the police so that the young retarded woman should get the credit for stopping this and not us who had physically done something.
