Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka Everybody Give a Cheer!

Despite what I intended I'm actually getting enthused about Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory due in large part to the amazing peeks given by the trailer linked from The Tim Burton Collective. Someone stop me before I go all fannish. The song, the look, it all has a wonderful sense of... dark whimsy that I felt was missing from the first adaptation.

Oh speaking of fannish I'm thinking of creating a flag for the Western Fannish Republic so when/if I go abroad I can confuse everyone as to if they should like or hate me until I've already caught the train out of town.

EDIT: Tim Burton put crack in that trailer or something. I've watched it a dozen times! I need help!

I think Johnny Depp looks absolutely terrifying in the trailer. *shudder*

Yes... but in my mind that's about right. Roald Dahl's books are quite dark in their whimsical way.
