Father's Father: Polish (South and east of Krakow) Father's Mother: Quebecois French settlers who later moved to Michigan Mother's Father: Scotch, Welsh, Irish, and Cornish Mother's Mother: Irish and Swedish
I suppose that the Polish might be a bit close to Slovak. However my father's looks show where my ancestors supposedly came from before they arrived in Poland. According to family tradition we're Tartars who settled in Poland and intermarried with the Poles. My father has a sort of dusky cast to his skin and when he grows a mustache he looks like he ought to be wearing a furry hat and burning villages.
I mostly look like my great-grandfather on my maternal grandfather's side of the family. So that would be the British grab bag. He was supposedly mostly Cornish or something. We don't know because he had a falling out with his family, moved to Colorado with his wife, and never spoke of the relatives back in Illinois.
Maybe its the scruff that makes me look more like my Eastern European ancestors.
