mishalak: A fantasy version of myself drawn by Sue Mason (Nice)
So I am writing about my party results while I am drunk. Way drunk. I was absolutely correct about the amount of alcohol that eight dollars per person would buy. The result is that I'm more sloshed than I have been since that time in San Francisco when all the dirty old men were buying me Long Island Iced Teas. Good gosh the Cosmopolitan is deceptively tasty. I have consumed about two and a half and my lips seem permanently numb. If my boyfriend were here I would be severely molesting him. I did not end up making a profit on the event, but that was not the intention. I just wanted to defray the costs to the point where I was not acting as an alcoholic potlatch.

So absolute success on that score. Six people, including myself, was a very good number. Having two or four more would not disrupt the good social conversations and might actually make people feel more comfortable. And mixing the cosmos worked out very well. We tried it two different ways. The totally high class version using premium vodka (Grey Goose) and Cointreau with lime and cranberry juice and also the less hoity-toity Skyy and Triple-Sec. I like them both, though I see why some would like the less sweet version using Cointreau. If making a Cosmopolitan for my own enjoyment I think I would use triple sec, but use less so that the orange flavor would not overwhelm the lemon vodka and cranberry flavors.

And right now I think I need a icon of me consuming alcohol. For drunk posts like this one.

Many, many thanks to all who came to the event. Marlena, Scott, Laura, and... oh damn.. I forgot some names. Well I'll just have to get those into my memory in time for the next one. Either in two weeks or next month. Now I'm going to have three or four glasses of water than then crash in bed. And next time I'm going to declare a 6:30 opening time based upon when people actually showed up this Saturday.

Whee!

Addendum: Oh, and I dread the number of dishes I shall have to wash tomorrow. But I shall try not to think about that tonight. It is one in the morning and I'm trying to get enough water into my system that I won't regret this in the morning. Ten more minutes until I crash.
