Bread, Working Out, and Cameras
Mar. 28th, 2008 11:30 amWhy have I not posted when I resolved to post more often? Well I got to working on a entry about Karval Kon and I got stuck for some reason. And every time I sat down to write something I said to myself, "Finish then Entry on Karval Kon". And then I wouldn't. And so nothing got written.
Yesterday I made half wheat half white bread. I'm modifying a recipe from Cooks Illustrated for this. I have it about right to make two loves for my bread pans. 2 cups of white, 2 cups wheat, 2tablespoons butter, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup honey, salt, and yeast. But I need a better way to make it even. A scale would probably be the right thing for that. Also the first time I made the bread it came out perfect. This time it was a bit too browned and crusty. I suppose next time I could change the temperature I bake at, but that seems dangerous. Would a lower temperature not cook the interior of the bread enough? Maybe I'll try taking just one loaf out when the color rather than time is right next time.
I also worked out yesterday. I'm pleased with that. I'm going to do the same tomorrow. And on Monday I'm going to try starting an actual workout regiment rather than randomly using weight machines based on what I feel like doing at the moment. I have no clue as to what I'm doing, but I'm trying my best to be careful.
I need to break down and either spend the cash to fix my camera or buy an inexpensive point and shoot. I do not like not having a camera and I've been without one for a year. I've got short hair now and no good pictures of that.
