Do something good for democracy. Strangle a priest with the entrails of a sanctimonious politician.

This sort of snarkness comes of me having switched on the news. Always a mistake, but it was a particular mistake this week as the local news outlets are doing their duty as the propaganda ministry in service of our state's Governor. He's declared this "abstinence week" and so of course they have him and other self-righteous religious types pontificating about how we shouldn't teach young people the truth. No we should go on repeating the same medieval thoughts that the Inquisitor Benardo Gui from The Name of the Rose would be happy to preach.

But then what else can I expect of mankind? Why is it that I keep on persisting in believing that things could be better if we just were not lied to when the study of history shows that democracy is an aberration as is rational thought. If I were a sensable person I'd give in and become a priest of politican myself so I could have my turn on the throne of gold.
