Observation that Will Shortly Be Proven Wrong

I'm going to get more people writing here. How? Well I'll simply mention that I've noticed a decline in the number of people writing entries on livejournal and as sure as saying "Well at least things can't get any worse" my entry will be followed by everyone posting.

It is hard to quantify, but I'm sure there has been a decline in LJ over the last year. I think people are somewhat drifting away from the service, I know I'm using blogger a lot more often than LJ.

I've noticed that, too. Blogspot and Wordpress seem to be the top choices for alternatives to LJ.

I just haven't had the time to post as much as I used to, what with the job and boyfriend. Every so often I think to myself, "I really ought to post about what just happened," but I never get around to it.

Well...

The recent flakiness in lj service couldn't possibly have anything to do with that, could it?

I've found myself doing more and writing less. Of course, a big chunk of my "doing more" has turned out to be getting everything working on my computer again, which also eats into my posting time.

It might also be that being unemployed you have more time to check the service, and each time hope more has been to entertain you. That's certainly the case for me, as I hit refresh far too often.

I've noticed a drop over the past year, though things seem to have picked up again lately.

It would take a remarkably devious person to sucker a sophisticated individual like me into responding to this post.

Oh, wait....

There may, indeed, have been some shift from lj to other venues during the past year, but it's kinda like Room Parties at old-fashioned SF Cons -- some people wander a lot, deciding that a given Party is either too crowded or too dull, so most Parties will cycle somewhere between those extremes. Here, I'm sticking mostly with lj because I'm accustomed to it and because most of the people (often more than I can handle) I know & like utilize it for much of their OnLine Fanac.
