Way To Go David Willis

Nice rant shaped thing over at Shortpacked, a web comic I read. Apparently unknown to me, because I don't move in ditto head circles, there is a chain letter making its way around saying all proud Americans should wear red on Fridays. Jezze. Well the only thing we can do is point and laugh. The stupid won't go away on its own. Want to show you support the troops? How about you support paying for what we're spending on the war? Oh wait you don't want to do something hard, you'd rather just show your support by slapping on a bumper sticker and wearing red? That's cool. There ought to be a word for that. Something like chickenhawk.

Addendum: Good suggestion. Subvert it by wearing red. Like a red Canada tee shirt.

If I wear my red Team/Equipé Canada sweatshirt on Fridays, will that make a freeper's head go 'splody?

If so that would be about perfect. How about on Fridays I'll wear something red with my most gothy/faggy outfit?

There's the Admi(red) tshirts that The Gap sells to benefit Bono's guilt charity for buying anti-retrovirals.

Actually the Canadian neocons are advocating the red-shirt-on-Fridays thing too. :P

Yes, but my sweatshirt has French on it.

They ought to show they're proud by sending their own kids to war.

I wore purple today; I guess I'll have to be careful not to wear red on Fridays.

Don't let them take red from you! I won't! Red is my favorite colour any day of the week!

Bleeh. I has Nike "swooshes" on it. I don't wear swooshes. Ever. Nike is uncool because I declared them to be uncool years ago after that sweatshop episode.

I'll buy a tee shirt and slap a maple leaf on it.

Cool or not, Nike has the contract to make jerseys for several professional hockey teams. (And besides, it's a hockey jersey - how much more Canadian can you get? ;) )

But it's got a swoosh! I don't care if Queer as Folk has a contract with the swoosh, not wearing it! I own nothing with swooshes.

I'll create my own tee that will be super cool. Like Jean Reno cool.

At "Faust - the panto" the denizens of Hell did very well with plain red t-shirts and black jeans/miniskirts, each one customised by slashing and pins and zips and painting designs or slogans with black fabric paint.

I don't wear anything with logos or company names on it. If they want me to advertise for them, they can pay me.

That's a wicked cool jersey,

I'll need to get one, but I thought Reebok had the contract for the NHL actual play jerseys.

[identity profile] boywhocantsayno.livejournal.com 2006-11-25 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it differs from team to team, then.

[identity profile] doubt72.livejournal.com 2006-11-26 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the national jersey. Nike has the contract for most of those (through the IIHF). Team jerseys are usual KOHO or some such for NHL teams. Not sure if that's universal, though, and maybe that's what Reebok nabbed.
